Sea 2 Sky Sustainable Tiny Home Competition
Challenge Rules and Guidelines
- Team Formation
Each team must consist of five participants. One member must be designated as the Team Lead, responsible for all communications with organizers.
- Tiny Sustainable Home Design Requirements
- Designs must include basic living essentials: sleeping space, cooking area, and sanitation system.
- Each home must integrate a sustainable food waste solution, such as composting, aquaponics, waste-to-energy systems, or vertical farming.
- Homes should prioritize off-grid capabilities or demonstrate minimal environmental impact.
- Prototype Construction
- Teams will build a scaled model of their Sustainable Tiny Home using upcycled or provided materials.
- Models must not exceed 24 inches by 24 inches and must showcase key sustainability features.
- A presentation board (physical or digital) must accompany the model and clearly explain the design concept, materials used, and sustainability innovations.
- Pitch and Judging
Each team will have 5 minutes to present their prototype to the judging panel. Projects will be evaluated using the following criteria:
- Creativity and Innovation (30%)
Original and practical solutions to food waste challenges. - Sustainability Impact (25%)
Demonstrated reduction of waste and promotion of sustainable living. - Functionality and Design (25%)
Evaluation of livability, feasibility, and resource efficiency. - Presentation and Teamwork (20%)
Clarity, passion, and collaboration during the pitch.
- Awards and Incentives
- The winning team will receive a $2,500 cash prize.
- All participants who complete every session and attend both the prototype event and the Climate Action Workshop at EarthX 2025 will receive a $25 Amazon Gift Card.
